Well I have decided to put the Porteus on hold and go with another favourite. In the early 90's  Halcyon models (now sadly long gone.) released the brilliant 1/72nd dropship from Aliens. I recently aquired one on Ebay as well as a resin APC. The dropship is a brilliant piece but has its faults. * no pilots in cockpit (as well as poorly detailed.) * the ramp down has a problem in that I need to cut the "belly" to put in the APC. This should be fun.

In the 60's there was a movie that I have always loved for its superb special effects and the 6th star of Fantasic voyage, the PROTEUS. I knew the model existed in the "garage kit world" but it was finally this year I decided to take the plunge and purchase Crows nest models 1/48th model of the proteus. Its a mostly cast resin with metal and plastic additions. I have also purchased the sitting crew (there are also standing figures) So over the summer I will publish this work.

Its still August and the weather is not too bad for the time of year. I have been "squirrelling" some winter projects for the long dark nights ahead. Projects include: a Halcyon Nostromo restoration project an Argonaut vinyl model Robocop (this is a stuning 1/8th kit, over twenty years old) Fichtenfoos fish shaped Sub (a real gem of a model, resin and brass mixed media kit) Airfix Starcruiser 1 which I want to improve / change totally. And then out of the blue starts the photos of Dark knight rises. The BATWING is stunning and someone will release a kit in the next year.
